Responsibilities of the Board of Directors
State Chair
Initiate and provide leadership for all state programs, act as liaison to the National office and keep the state organization informed of all national events and policies, coordinate activities between and within the various levels of the state program, act as liaison to the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), coordinate and plan Regional and National events with the Kids, Cadets, Juniors and Open Directors, and chair the Board of Directors.
Secretary
The Secretary shall provide leadership and coordination of administrative services, which include: meeting minutes, charter, policies and procedures, permanent records, and mailing list.. Ensure that all NMWUSA documents are up to date and easily accessible. Work up and send minutes in a timely manner Email only general meeting minutes to be posted on the NMWUSA. Email general meeting minutes to those people who attended the general meeting. Work with NMWUSA administrative assistant on all communication to the membership.
Treasurer
Provide leadership and coordination of administrative services which include: managing finances. Collecting fees and obtaining memberships, charters, and sanctions. Furnishing financial reports annually to USA Wrestling in accordance with National by-laws. Work with NMWUSA administrative assistant for taxes, 501c3, and all financial documents.
Junior Director
Coordinate and provide leadership for NMWUSA, schedule and sanction junior (HS) tournaments, clinics and other events, assist with regional and national programs, and act as liaison to the USAW National Junior programs in conjunction with the State Chair. Help organize regional and national teams and recruit athletes to participate in those teams/events.
Kids Director
Coordinate and provide leadership for NMWUSA and New Mexico Junior Wrestling (NMJW), schedule Kids tournaments, clinics and other events, assist with Regional and National programs and act as a liaison to the NMJW and State Chair. Help organize regional and national teams and recruit athletes to participate in those teams/events.
Womens Director
Coordinate and provide leadership for the NMUSAW, schedule girls/women tournaments, clinics, and other events, assist with regional and national programs, and act as liaison to the USAW National Women’s program in conjunction with the State Chair. Help organize regional and national teams and recruit athletes to participate in those teams/events.
Open Director
Coordinate and provide leadership for the NMWUSA Open and UWW programs, schedule tournaments, clinics and other events, assist with regional and national programs and act as a liaison to the USAW National/Open programs in conjunction with the State Chair.
Officials Director
Coordinate and provide leadership for the NMWUSA officials organization. Help recruit new officials throughout the state for tournaments, clinics and other events. Assist with regional and national programs and act as a liaison to the USAW officials program in conjunction with the State Chair.
Regional Directors – Northern, Central and Southern
Work with the State Chair and age group directors assisting with finding tournaments and or training sites in their respective region. The Regional Directors will work to improve USA Wrestling membership and provide leadership, address the needs and bring problems from their respective regions to the attention of the board. Help organize regional and national teams and recruit athletes to participate in those teams/events.
